Comments Policy

Spot Clean Food is a personal blog, written and edited by me to share my love of food and my thoughts on why it matters. I believe in the idea that I don’t know what I don’t know, and I could either write “Here be dragons” on my thought-map or I could learn from you. As fond as I am of dragons, I would rather keep learning, so please keep those comments coming.

Some ground rules:

1. Contributing is encouraged
I love talking about food and health–recipes, ingredients, techniques, food issues, food policy, food science, gastronomy, neurology, psychology–you name it. Whatever is on your mind, I want to hear about it.

2. Venting is understandable
While Spot Clean Food is a happy place (well, my happy place), I’m guessing that if you’re here, you might be under a certain amount of stress. Feel free to vent your frustrations, but please keep it clean and respectable. Profanity and personal attacks will be deleted.

3. Linking is allowed
The interconnectedness of the interwebs is a wondrous thing. Relevant links are encouraged. If you’ve got a great resource, please share (limit 2 per comment), but irrelevant, self-serving, or potentially offensive links will be deleted.

4. Spamming is forbidden
I use a spam filter. In addition, any spammy, spam-like, or manufactured-in-a-facility-that-processes-spam-type comments that somehow slip by it will be deleted.

Please note that a name and valid email address are required to post comments on Spot Clean Food, or you can use an existing social media profile. Your email will not be publicly visible. Your name will be visible and discoverable by search engines or connected to your social media profile, and therefore will no longer be private. You are solely responsible for what you disclose and the content and accuracy of your comments. (And keyword-stuffing of Names will not be tolerated. See Spamming.)
